I’m Kate and I live in South Canterbury, New Zealand. I have over 12 years’ experience as a web dev using a variety of technologies including:
- PHP – Symfony, Laravel, Slim, SilverStripe, a little bit of WordPress and a whole lot of raw coding back in the day. Special interest in back-end development, Doctrine ORM, payment integrations (Stripe, DPS, eGate), and RESTful API design.
- Java – both desktop (Swing, concurrency, image manipulation, printing) and enterprise (WebSphere, Tomcat, Spring, JMS).
- JavaScript – jQuery, a decent understanding of OO and functional JavaScript with backbone.js and underscore.js.
- A little bit of Ruby on Rails and Perl
- mysql, MongoDB, Ubuntu, Apache, nginx
- In the more distant past SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, Microsoft Access
I have been working remotely from home as a permanent employee or contractor for over six years. I am currently open to new opportunities.
